Statement from Rainforest Trust on the Forest & Climate Leaders’ Partnership call for land tenure and forest finance pledges to be delivered at COP30 in Brazil

(London, UK) At London Climate Action Week, global leaders, including governments, Indigenous organizations, and major philanthropies, issued a unified call for bold land tenure and forest finance commitments to be delivered at COP30 in Brazil, emphasizing Indigenous rights, climate justice, and direct funding for community-led conservation.

In response, James Deutsch, CEO of Rainforest Trust, issued the following statement:

“Rainforest Trust is proud to renew and increase our pledge of support to Indigenous People and Local Communities to assist their efforts to strengthen land tenure and fulfill their critical and historical role as nature’s guardians.  We can only achieve our mission of saving species and protecting our planet by partnering with Indigenous People and Local Communities, and indeed that partnership is critical for the world to achieve our agreed target of 30×30.”
