With over a decade of development experience, Jane Johannsen joined Rainforest Trust as a Philanthropy Writer and was soon promoted to Donor Relations Manager. Before joining Rainforest Trust, Jane served as Donor Relations Officer at the University of Hawai’i Foundation. Her diverse professional background also includes roles as a Senior Community Development Specialist for a regional planning commission, Director of Advancement for a sustainability-focused charter school, and a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ethiopia. Jane’s passion for conservation is rooted in her personal experiences: she grew up in the Ozark Mountains near the Mark Twain National Forest and is an avid ultrarunner and former thru-hiker, having completed both the Appalachian and Pacific Crest Trails. Jane holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Northwest Missouri State University. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with family, friends, and in her painting studio.
