Barbara Chesire

Barbara Chesire is an insurance leader and conservation advocate based in Nairobi, Kenya. With nearly 20 years of experience, she champions insurance as a tool for resilience and sustainable development.
In 2014, she co-founded AB Entheos to strengthen Africa’s insurance industry and expand access to meaningful risk solutions. AB Entheos pioneered Africa’s first Human-Wildlife Conflict Insurance product (WILD Cover), supporting both vulnerable communities and wildlife conservation.
Barbara serves on the boards of Old Mutual Holdings, Mara Elephant Project, and St. Andrew’s School Turi. She holds a BSc in Actuarial Science from the University of Calgary and a Postgraduate Degree in Global Business from the University of Oxford.
Born and raised in Eldoret, Kenya, she is a mother of two daughters and is committed to advancing solutions that protect both people and nature.
