Jana Wiegand joined the Rainforest Trust at the start of 2026 as the Publications Writer & Editor. With a strong background in science communication, Jana has extensive experience producing branded storytelling materials for institutions such as the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, Cornell University, and the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation. She received her bachelor’s degree from Macalester College, and has a master’s degree in environmental science and natural resource journalism from the University of Montana.

Outside of work, Jana enjoys trail running, biking, camping, live music, cozy bookshops, chasing sunsets and hopes of seeing the northern lights.
