You Can Help 220 Indigenous Communities Access Basic Human Rights By Titling Their Lands, Protecting Over 6 Million Acres!
Hundreds of indigenous communities in Peru are not able to access basic human economic and cultural rights because they do not have ownership of their ancestral lands, which are under tremendous pressure from logging and agricultural expansion. Without proper land titles, native communities have no legal instrument to defend themselves from those who want to exploit their resources.
Your donations will enable Rainforest Trust to:
- Team up with community associations to support all of the mandated legal and technical procedures required to ensure that indigenous lands can be titled and recognized;
- Ensure communities are empowered to be stewards of their land through the implementation of management plans that regulate land use;
- Allocate communal land sections for strict protection; and
- Protect Endangered species such as the White-bellied Spider Monkey, Giant Otter and Black-faced Black Spider Monkey.
Support Rainforest Trust today and help protect the rights of indigenous communities and save the Peruvian rainforest!
