Rainforest Trust is a non-profit global conservation organization that aims to conserve the world’s most threatened tropical species and habitats. Our approach is to develop highly effective partnerships with in-country organizations and work with them to purchase and protect threatened tropical ecosystems, ensuring the sustainable results necessary for the long-term protection of these areas and the wildlife they hold.
Internship Summary
Rainforest Trust seeks an enthusiastic and dedicated individual with excellent graphic and digital design skills for a part-time, paid internship position for Summer 2021. As a Graphic & Digital Design Intern, you will collaborate with members of the marketing team to support development of creative for ongoing marketing efforts. We’re looking for a creative, motivated learner who is passionate about conservation and the environment.
Learning Outcomes – The intern will gain experience in the following areas:
- Creation of graphics for email, website and print
- Creation of infographic and digital illustrations
- Website design and maintenance
- Content creation
- Video production for social media, including TikTok
- Video cataloguing
- Marketing and communications, including online, print and social media
In addition to performing a valuable service, you will learn the responsibilities required of a nonprofit professional as well as the culture, mission, vision and values of Rainforest Trust.
Internship Qualifications:
The ideal intern is an undergrad or graduate student pursuing a degree in the field of graphic or website design or related fields seeking experience in marketing, design and/or communications.
- Strong communication skills
- Mastery of graphic design software, including Adobe Creative Cloud software (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign)
- Solid knowledge of design and visual principles
- Portfolio showing creative, design and software skills
- Ability to evaluate choices critically, with the project needs in mind
- Ability to communicate design choices clearly
- Backend knowledge of WordPress websites is a plus
- Knowledge of video production is a plus
Compensation:
This is a paid internship.
Duration:
This is a part-time, 2 month summer internship with flexible start and end dates between May to October based on the student’s availability.

Physical Demands:
